Puerto del Rosario
Where tradition blends with modernity.

Puerto del Rosario, known as Puerto Cabras until 1956, was the capital of Fuerteventura.
Home to the main lines connecting the other islands and the mainland, all administrative buildings and the main hospital are located here.
Walking through its streets feels like an open-air museum, with approximately 50 statues of different styles scattered throughout the city.
The recently renovated seafront promenade is particularly attractive, where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll and admire the ocean views.
Among the cultural attractions, the Museum of Modern Art, where you can admire contemporary works of art, and the Miguel de Unamuno Museum, which recounts the history and culture of the island, are worthy of mention.
NOT TO BE MISSED
Museum of Modern Art:
An interesting collection of contemporary art complemented by various exhibitions showcasing Canarian art.
Miguel de Unamuno Museum:
Although not originally from Canarias, he is one of the most illustrious figures associated with Fuerteventura.
A famous writer, poet, and philosopher, he was exiled to Fuerteventura, which left a significant influence on his works.
The museum, dedicated to his life, is his former residence, where he composed important works that brought prestige to Spanish literature.
Historic Center:
A maze of streets where you can admire the architecture of the houses and go shopping.
Church of Notre-Dame du Rosaire:
In the heart of the city, not far from the seafront, stands the graceful Church of Notre-Dame du Rosaire. This modest-sized Catholic church, built in the 19th century, is still in use today.
Its bell tower was built in 1888, when the regional council purchased two bells from Marseille.
